Renovating your home is a big deal. You’ll want to know what to expect before any big decisions need to be made. Here are the steps of our process …

Step 1

Darrel will meet with you to discuss your renovation ideas or answer any questions you may have about renovating your home. He’ll be able to give you a realistic completion time frame and suggest start dates. As well as advise you on the process.

Step 2

You’ll get a competitive quote within 2 days that will itemise out all the costs involved in your project. And if you need us to source fittings and finishings, we’ll also send you options to choose from.
Note: Depending on the size of your job, planning and consent may be required. If so, concepts or plans will be required which could take a couple of weeks. Concepts or plans may be required which will extend by weeks depending on size and complexity.

Step 3

When you decide to go ahead with your renovation, Darrel will give you a start date and request a deposit payment. At this time you will need to finalise any fittings, colours and tile choices.

Step 4

Once payment is received, Darrel will confirm the start date of your renovation and discuss things like: getting keys and access your property, who to expect on day one and when the skip bin will be arriving on your property. This would be a good time to check out the Meet the Team page so you know who’s in your home during the renovation.

Step 5

During the renovation project, you can expect weekly updates from Darrel by phone or during onsite visits. If you have any questions or concerns at any time, contact Darrel. The NZRC team are adaptable and willing to make changes throughout the project and will revise the original quote if necessary.

Step 6

Once your renovation is complete, it’s time for the quality check or final inspection. This will be your opportunity to walk through the renovation or extension with Darrel and discuss any issues you may have or touch-ups that you would like made. Once you are 100% happy, you will receive the final invoice.

Other things to consider:

 For bathroom and kitchen renovations, facilities will be unavailable for a period of time so you may need to consider hiring a portable bathroom or kitchen. Darrel will discuss this with you if necessary.
 You will need to make room for our team to work so think about where you can move your furniture and possessions to before we start your project.
 For bigger projects, progress payments may be an option.
